60-Minute Initial Assessment - Your First Session with Me - $275
This is the standard way that we will begin our work together. I will take some time to briefly introduce you to the therapy process before taking some time to learn more about you, what brings you into therapy, and how I can best help you. For those using insurance to cover the cost of services, I will also be using this time to gather information necessary for a clinical diagnosis, since treatment covered by insurance requires a diagnosis in order to be deemed “medically necessary”. If you have reservations about having a diagnosis recorded in your medical history or would rather not approach your concerns from a medical standpoint, you have the option to self-pay for services.
This can be covered by either self-pay or insurance
53-Minute Individual Session - The Standard Therapy Hour - $225
This is the standard length of an individual psychotherapy session. What each session will look like will depend on your individual needs, your goals, and what has been happening in your life during the time between sessions. While we may formulate a tentative plan for future work at the end of each session, I try to be as flexible as possible at the start of each session in order to make sure that we are exploring what ever is most important for you in the moment.
This can be covered by either self-pay or insurance
Couple’s/Relationship Therapy
$275 for the Initial Assessment, $225 for each Follow-Up Session
The quality of our relationships affects our overall emotional health in countless ways, and sometimes two or more people need a little help adjusting the way that they relate to one another in order to live more satisfying lives, both as a collective and as individuals. I help people assess the health of their relationships, identify patterns of communication and behavior that sustain unhelpful conflict, and develop new adaptive ways of understanding and treating one another. In some cases, I also help people end their relationships in ways that minimize harm and negative residual effects. While we may discuss how personal histories of each member of the relationship have shaped what they bring to the relationship, the central focus of this type of therapy is the relationship itself, and how all parties want to move forward with it.
Relationship therapy is often not covered by insurance, as it is often deemed to not be treatment for a “medical condition”, leading many clients to opt to self-pay as a result.
Free 15-minute Phone/Video Consultation
Choosing a psychotherapist can often seem like a daunting task, and sometimes people want a bit more information than a brief online bio can provide in order to make a decision about whether a provider will be a good fit. I offer a brief 15-minute consultation with people who want to learn a bit more about me and my approach to therapy before scheduling an initial assessment. Please be aware that this consultation is only for the purposes of assessing whether I would be a good fit for you as a psychotherapist, and that I cannot provide psychotherapy during these consultations. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please consult one of the crisis resources outlined on the “Crisis Resources” page, or call 911.
No-Show and Cancellation Policy
Clients are responsible for the full session fee ($225) of any missed appointments not canceled with at least 24-hours notice (emergency exceptions may apply on a case-by-case basis). Health insurance will not pay for late cancellations or no shows, and the fee assessed for no-shows/late cancellations may differ from the cost-per-session under your insurance coverage. Please plan to arrive on time for appointments to ensure that you get the most out of our work together. If you are too late to allow time for proper care, you may be asked to reschedule.
Good Faith Estimate
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your psychological service. You can also ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-877-696-6775.
